About Nibblz
Nibblz was created to support the KS3 computing curriculum. We wanted to create a series of small, engaging videos that allowed students to take control of their own learning. Our "Nibblz" are organised into three categories:
-
Theory - To teach a theory concept
-
Skill - To impart a practical skill
-
Challenge - a task - usually with built in self assessment

Nibblz can be used to support learning in and outside of the classroom. Almost all of our suggested platforms are web based and free to use. We made the decision to move away from proprietary, installed software to maximise reach and uptake during COVID-19 disruption, where students only had access to the internet from home.

Now we have worked in this way and seen its benefits, we have made it the basis for all our learning and try to use web based platforms only.
We are aware we should have called it nibblz.org...it just didn't sound as cool though when saying it in the recordings!
Our Team
Kevin Chatten
Kevin started teaching in 2002 as an ICT teacher. Fast forward to today and Kevin is now the Lead Teacher of Computing and Virtual Learning at The Garibaldi School in Nottingham. Under his direction the Keystage 3 curriculum has undergone several iterations and countless reinventions over the years and Nibblz.co.uk is the latest development in trying to make the learning as engaging and powerful as possible.

Kevin is the subject expert for computer science based "Nibblz". When he is not teaching he enjoys online gaming, basketball, performing on stage in local musical theatre groups and attempting to eat his own body weight in doughnuts each week.

James Connolly
James started teaching in 2010 as an ICT teacher. Having worked at the Garibaldi School for 11 years. He is now responsible for training future Computing Science teachers. He has years of experience teaching Computer Science at both KS3 and at KS5. He is also a specialist in digital media, having previously worked as a web designer before becoming a teacher.
James is the subject expert for digital media based “Nibblz”. When he is not teaching he leads a criminal organisation planning to take over the world… but when not doing that he can be found watching football, tinkering with technology and playing squash......badly.
